Law Directory Search Forms
The Martindale-Hubbell(R) Law Directory search forms help you
quickly find information on specific attorneys, legal firms,
and corporate legal departments.
How Do They Work?
Simply fill in a form with the name of a lawyer, firm, or
corporation, and any other information you know. Then click
a button to send the search to the LEXIS(R)-NEXIS(R)
services. The documents the search finds are displayed
using the LEXIS(R)-NEXIS(R) Research Software v4.1 for
Windows(R). You can browse the documents, and then use the
research software to print or download them.
NOTE: If the research software is not running when you send
a search, you'll need to enter your LEXIS-NEXIS ID to
sign on, when prompted.
Before Using a Form
Before you select a search form, you can enter a client ID
for your research in the Client ID field at the main screen.
If you are signed on to the LEXIS-NEXIS services and have
already entered a client ID, it appears in the Client ID
field. You can also use the View field to select a display
format for your documents.
Selecting a Form
At the main screen, click on the form that best describes
the type of information you want to find, then click Select.
The form appears, and you can fill it in. Click Help at the
form screen for instructions.
Resubmitting a Search
If the documents your search found are not what you wanted
(too many, too few, or not the right information), you can
return to the Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory Search Forms
and change your search. You may want to fill in more
fields to narrow the search, or enter different information.

[FormTips]
Tips
* Most fields on the form are optional; however, the more
information you specify, the more targeted your results.
* You can use the following special characters in your field
entries:
Asterisk (*)--Replaces one letter, can appear more than
once in a word, and can be used anywhere except as the
first letter. For example, if you enter Law*on, the search
locates both Lawson and Lawton.
Exclamation Mark (!)--Replaces one or more letters at the
end of a word. You can use only one in a word. For example,
if you enter Ma!, the search locates Mary, Matthew, Martin,
and so on.
* Use OR when entering multiple items, such as name
variations.
Example: Bob or Robert.
* Use AND only if you want your search results to contain all
the items in your field entry. Example: Spanish and German
and French.
* Unless you are skilled at using Boolean logic, avoid mixing
AND and OR in the same field entry. Example: New York and
San Francisco or Chicago.
* Your field entries are not case-sensitive. Example: Both
"Los Angeles" and "los angeles" are acceptable.
